The Challenge is planned for Saturday however it may be held on Sunday for best conditions.

Directions to Paynesville. Progress Park Start Line.

Follow Bairnsdale to Paynesville rd. Drive 14km, turn right at the round about at Paynesville onto Main rd.  
Drive 1.5km until you reach the T intersection.  Turn left onto the Esplanade rd.
Travel 200mtr and turn right into the Progress Park car park. Start line.

Directions to Metung. Shaving Point Start Line.

At Swan Reach 14km west of Lakes Entrance on the Princess Highway turn onto the Metung Road and head south.
Drive 9km to Metung. Travel through the town until you reach the Shaving Point boat ramp.  Start line.

Lakes Entrance Start and Finish Line. Foot Bridge on the Front Lake.

Centre Of The Universe.

Suggested Car Parking.

500 meters east side of the footbridge. Crafts can easily be removed for start or end of race.

Direction to Alternate Courses.

Apex Park- North Arm Start Line.

Turn east at the bottom of the hill at Lakes Entrance (west end) and drive 200 mtr and turn left into Apex Park.

Tambo River. Johnsonville.

Located approx half way (16km) between Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance on the Princes Highway.
Turn onto Punt rd and drive 1km south to the boat ramp. Start line

Mitchell River. Bairnsdale.

Start - 10.15 - Prone Paddle Board. Stand Up Paddle Boards. Sea Kayak. Out Rigger Canoe.

Start - 10.30 - Sea Kayak. Out Rigger Canoe Single.

Start - 10.45 - Surf Skis. Out Rigger Canoe Double

Start - 11am - Ocean Racing Skis. Out Rigger OC6

 
Metung to Lakes Entrance

Registration 10.00am onwards

Briefing 11:30am

Start - 12pm - Hobie Kayak.  Sit on Top Kayaks. Prone Paddle Boards and SLSA Racing Boards.

Start - 12.15pm - Stand Up Paddle Boards. Out Rigger canoe. Sea Kayaks.

Start - 12.30pm - Surf Skis. Ocean Racing Skis. Surf Boats. All SLSA Conditions Apply For Surf Boats.

Note - Both Paynesville and Metung paddlers should be off the course by 2.30pm

REVERSED COURSE/STRONG HEAD WINDS. SATURDAY.


Lakes Entrance to Metung


Combined start time. Both legs will finish at Metung.
Paynesville paddlers will  include a return paddle to the top end of the North Arm

Alternate Course. Adverse Weather Conditions. Saturday

North Arm at Lakes Entrance. Starting at Apex Park and complete a return paddle to the top end of the North Arm.

The foot bridge at Lakes Entrance and complete a return paddle to the top end of the North Arm,

Tambo River. Johnsonville

Note - If the above courses have to be used the start times will be the same as the Lakes Entrance to Metung

reverse course for Saturday

Start Times & Course Sunday 2018

If the event has to be rescheduled to the following day because of adverse weather conditions,
The Paddle Challenge will either start at Metung and finish at Lakes Entrance,
The foot bridge at Lakes Entrance and complete a return paddle to the top end of the North Arm,
Or start at Apex Park and complete a return  paddle to the top end of the North Arm.
All paddlers will complete approximately a 15km course.
